The boys sealed the runners up slot with a good attacking display against a game Southmead side who deserved more for their efforts than the scoreline suggests.
The boys had a great start when a corner in the opening minute was flighted in well by Jordy and Ben nodded home at the far post. The lead was doubled 5 minutes later when Matt Wingfield ran on to a loose ball and hit a sweet left foot strike to the bottom right. We added another when Jack flighted a good free kick in which avoided everyone in the box and crept in at the far post.
The visitors were not out of it and Tom, still standing in for the injured Roy, came off his line to deal with a couple od through balls and cleanly gathered a good strike from distance. On the half hour Jack notched his second when he gambled at the back post and converted Jordy's corner, and Thomas was called into action again to make a good stop as the visitors responded. He sent out a great kick, Harry touched it on and Josh finished sharply left to right for a good cushion.
The second half we played a bit more possession ball and a few chances went begging until on 20 mins Ejay went on a jinking run and finished across the keeper for a great goal, and that seemed to renew the boys appetite for attacking and after forcing a few corners Matt W sealed his hat-trick with 2 in a minute, the first a smart finish from Harry's cross and the second a great run onto Ben's through ball neatly tucked across the keeper and inside the right hand post. Cam finished the scoring with a late double, the first following up a good save from his own volley to force home and the last goal neatly converting Ejay's cross.
Good performances all over the pitch today, and Man of the match goes to Callum, a solid defensive display and some good control, always looking to play in his team mates, great stuff.
